The Panama Canal
I've seen the elephant
And I've heard the owl
I've been up and down Main Street
Strutting my stuff
I can be gentle
Or I can be rough
I've fought in a war
I've fought in the street
I've tasted the gall
I've drank from the sweet
I've crossed the date line
While circling the Earth
I've watched people die
And I've seen them give birth
I've been in the Arctic
Where icebergs are made
Crossed the Equator
Looking for shade
Watched albatross fly
Heard songs by a whale
Rode out a typhoon
Seen Neptune's fish tail
I've done all that needs doing
Answered the siren's call
I'm cock of the walk
And hog of them all
A "Tin Can Sailor"
That says it all
