Specifications for the Little (DD-79) Class
destroyers were taken from Ship’s Data U.S. Naval
Vessels, 1 January, 1938. Displacement: 1,191 tons
(trial), Dimensions: 314' 4"overall, 30' 8" beam, 9' 3" max.
draft. Speed: 35 knots. Armament: four 4-in./50 cal. guns,
one 3-in./23 cal. gun, twelve 21-in torpedo tubes, two depth
charge tracks. Complement: eight officers, 10 chief petty
officers, and 113 other enlisted men.
